Frequently asked questions
What happens in my first session?
The first session is a chance for us to meet and get a feel for working together. I’ll invite you to share what’s brought you to counselling, at a pace that feels right for you. I’ll also explain a little about how counselling works, confidentiality, and practicalities.
What is therapy with you like?
Therapy with me is gentle, collaborative, and led by you. I won’t tell you what to do or try to “fix” you. Instead, we’ll work together to make sense of your experiences, emotions, and patterns, and to develop greater clarity and self-compassion over time.
What happens when I contact you?
If you reach out via email, I'll usually reply within 2 days. We can arrange a free, no pressure 15 minute phone call to see if working together feels right. If we go ahead, we’ll agree a regular session time.
Where can we have in-person sessions?
I offer in-person sessions in Horsham and will soon also be offering sessions in the rural village of Shipley. I also work online, which can be a flexible option if you’re not local or prefer to work from home.
Do I need to know what to talk about?
Nope! Many people come to therapy unsure where to start. You don’t need to have the right words. We can begin wherever you are, even if that’s feeling confused, stuck, or unsure.
How much are sessions and how can I pay?
Sessions cost £50 and last 50 minutes, and payment is usually made by bank transfer. If you have any questions about fees or payment, you’re very welcome to ask. I do have concessions slots available on request.
